Gurkamal Grewal was born and raised in Brampton, Ontario and earned her Honours Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from McMaster University. She then went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo and graduated in 2025.
Her clinical training included an externship in Surrey, BC at an ophthalmologist's office, where she gained experience in acute eye emergencies, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. She also received training in Niagara Falls, ON where she provided comprehensive eye exams to patients of all ages and backgrounds. In 2023, Gurkamal was fortunate enough to volunteer on a medical mission trip in the Philippines and provide eyecare to underserved communities. Gurkamal will work under Dr. Alisa Khan's delegation until her registration with the College of Optometrists of Ontario is complete.
Outside of the clinic, Gurkamal enjoys spending time traveling around the world and is an avid runner. She is proud to be a part of the Milton Eye Care team and excited to take care of your eyes!
